Sean Connery: 7 Bond films
Sean Connery played James Bond in 7 films total. He played Bond in the first five movies of the franchise: “Dr. No,” “From Russia with Love,” “Goldfinger,” “Thunderball,” and “You Only Live Twice.” He then returned to the role more than a decade later for 1983’s “Never Say Never Again.”
George Lazenby: 1 Bond film
George Lazenby played the role of the famous British secret agent, James Bond, in just one film: On Her Majesty’s Secret Service (1969). He was the first (and so far only) Australian actor to play 007.
Roger Moore: 7 Bond films
Moore was the third actor to play Bond, and he did it for seven films over a period of 12 years, from 1973’s Live and Let Die to 1985’s A View to a Kill. That makes him the longest-serving Bond, and also the one with the most films under his belt.
Timothy Dalton: 2 Bond films
Timothy Dalton did two James Bond movies- “The Living Daylights” (1987) and “Licence to Kill” (1989).
Pierce Brosnan: 4 Bond films
Pierce Brosnan played the role of James Bond in four films during his career. He first took on the 007 mantle in 1995’s “GoldenEye” and went on to star in “Tomorrow Never Dies” (1997), “The World Is Not Enough” (1999), and “Die Another Day” (2002).
Daniel Craig: 3 Bond films (and counting)
Unknown to many, there have been eight different actors who have played British super-spy James Bond in the long-running movie franchise. Sean Connery is widely considered to be the best Bond, having appeared in seven movies. David Niven: 1 Bond film
David Niven played the original James Bond in the 1967 spoof Casino Royale. He was the only actor to play Bond in just one film.
Barry Nelson: 1 Bond film
Barry Nelson is the first actor to play James Bond in any screen adaptation. He played the role in a television adaptation of Casino Royale in 1954. The story was meant to be a spoof of Ian Fleming’s first Bond novel, and it is noticeably different in tone than the more serious films that would come later. Nelson’s Bond is an American intelligence officer working for “The Network,” and he is tasked with stopping the villain Le Chiffre from winning a high-stakes poker game.
Peter Sellers: 1 Bond film
Peter Sellers, who is perhaps best known as the bumbling Inspector Clouseau in the Pink Panther movies, played James Bond in only one film: Casino Royale.
Woody Allen: 1 Bond film
The famed director actually turned down the chance to direct Moonraker, but took on the task of playing Bond nemesis Scaramanga in The Man with the Golden Gun.
