The Lord of the Rings comics

There is some confusion over how many Lord of the Rings movies there actually are. The answer, of course, is three – The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, and The Return of the King. However, there are also a number of Lord of the Rings comics which have been released over the years.

The original trilogy was adapted into a comic book series by Marvel Comics in the early 1970s. In total, there were 24 issues released, with the final issue adapting the events of The Return of the King. These comics are now highly sought-after by collectors.

In 2005, a new series of Lord of the Rings comics was published by IDW Publishing. This series was much more faithful to the original books than the Marvel adaptation, and featured artwork by some of the best fantasy artists in the business. There are currently 18 issues in this series, with more planned for release in the future.

So if you’re a fan of Lord of the Rings and you’re wondering how many movies there are, or how many comics have been released, then the answer is three movies and 42 comics (and counting!).
