How many Marvel movies are there?
As of July 2019, there have been 23 movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
The history of Marvel movies
Marvel Studios is an American film studio that is a subsidiary of The Walt Disney Studios, itself a division of The Walt Disney Company. The studio is best known for its multi-billion-dollar film franchises, which are based on characters created by Marvel Comics.
Marvel Studios has released 23 films since 2008—11 set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU)—beginning with Iron Man (2008), which was distributed by Paramount Pictures. In 2012, Disney acquired the rights to distribute all future Marvel Studios films after acquiring Marvel Entertainment earlier that year for $4 billion. The following year, Marvel Studios reincorporated as a limited liability company under the name Marvel Studios, LLC.
The company released its first film outside of the MCU with Fox’s Fantastic Four in 2015. In 2019, it produced and released Captain Marvel, its first female-led superhero film, and Spider-Man: Far From Home, its first live-action Spider-Man film not affiliated with Sony Pictures (which had distributed the previous five Spider-Man films).
The different Marvel movie franchises
Since the release of Iron Man in 2008, there have been 23 movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The MCU is a shared universe, meaning that all of the movies are connected. This means that if you watch all of the movies in release order, you’ll get the full story.
There are three different “phases” of Marvel movies. The first phase includes Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, Thor, Captain America: The First Avenger, and The Avengers. Phase Two includes Iron Man 3, Thor: The Dark World, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Guardians of the Galaxy, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Ant-Man. Finally, Phase Three includes Captain America: Civil War,Doctor Strange, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Thor: Ragnarok , Black Panther , Avengers: Infinity War , and Ant-Man and the Wasp.
The fourth phase will begin with Spider-Man: Far From Home in 2019.

Why we love Marvel movies
We all know that Marvel movies are some of the most popular movies out there. But why do we love them so much?
For starters, they’re just really fun to watch. They’re packed with action, adventure, and humor, and they always manage to keep us on the edge of our seats.
But beyond that, Marvel movies also do a great job of representing strong and empowered female characters. In a genre that has been traditionally dominated by male characters, it’s refreshing to see women taking center stage and kicking butt.
And finally, Marvel movies always leave us wanting more. Just when we think we’ve seen it all, they surprise us with something new and exciting. We can’t wait to see what they have in store for us next!
